L Scates

Lloyd Scates – Lloyd Scates founded San Diego Services in 1999.  Lloyd holds an RPA and has an extensive background in large mechanical systems, high-rise air conditioning and pumping systems, as well as experience in real estate operations and facilities management.  Lloyd has also served as the education chairman and instructor for BOMA’s education program.

R Magnussen

Ray Magnussen – Beginning as a janitor over thirty years ago, Mr. Magnussen has developed a wide-reaching understanding of the building maintenance industry. Mr. Magnussen has been directly responsible for managing operations in markets from San Diego to San Francisco. During his three decades in the industry, Mr. Magnussen has serviced landmark accounts including the Nixon Presidential Library, high-traffic facilities such as United Parcels Services’ hubs throughout California, as well as high-tech campuses for Hewlett Packard, Roche Pharmaceuticals, and Applied Materials. As an expert in the industry, Mr. Magnussen is involved with several trade organizations including the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Hotel Motel Association, International Facility Managers Association (IFMA), and San Diego’s Downtown Partnership. In 2007, Mr. Magnussen served as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of San Diego’s President.

C Acosta

Carmen Acosta - Carmen has over 25 years of experience in the janitorial arena serving many of the buildings in San Diego. Carmen is responsible for management of operational, financial issues, customer relations, quality assurance and contract performance issues. Her strengths include taking complete ownership of her projects and completing all items. This enables the property management from daily janitorial concerns allowing them to focus on the developing of their assets.

Wesley Dymek – Over the past two decades, Mr. Dymek has developed a comprehensive background in the development and implementation of Total Maintenance Management (TMM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) solutions. He was successful providing training and staff development at numerous facilities throughout the country. Prior to joining Paragon Services, Mr. Dymek was responsible for multiple high-profile projects including the total facilitization of 120mm combustible tank ammunition production for NATO countries, as well as development and management of processes producing wiring components for the space shuttle computers’ wire harnessing systems. Mr. Dymek is an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of San Diego and Orange counties, the San Diego Building Engineers Association (SDBEA), as well as the Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE). A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Dymek holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management.

Jack Bennings

Jack Bennings – Spanning decades of experience in the facilities management and engineering field, Mr. Bennings has held numerous managerial positions with a number of leading Real Estate Management Firms. His facilities and engineering background includes working in Mission Critical Data Center for a Fortune 100 Company, Class A Office Buildings, Critical Hospital Environments, Medical Research Institutions, Universities, and Mass Transit Facilities. Responsibilities have included the administration of budgets, contract management, capital projects, and construction management. Technical experience includes the coordination and oversight of the base build-out of 338,500 sq ft. tenant office space. Most recently he played an integral part in the upgrade of a Tier II Data Center to a Tier IV level, which included the construction of a 29,000 sq ft. energy plant, the installation of dual 15 KV, 7.5 MW diesel generator plants, integration of three 1.8 MW UPS systems, chiller plant upgrade to 3,250 tons, 100 new 30 ton CRAH units, and the piping distribution replacement under the raised data center floor, all without any disruption of operation of data center. Mr. Bennings holds Engineering Licenses in multiple jurisdictions for low and high pressure steam plant operation, refrigeration, and energy auditing. He is active with various trade organizations including BOMA, IFMA, US Green Building Council, 7X24, SDBEA, and AFCOM.

Avevid Dinh-Acosta, DPM – After practicing medicine on the East Coast, Dr. Dinh-Acosta returned to San Diego to pursue a career in business. During her time at Paragon Services, Dr. Dinh-Acosta has helped develop the firm’s customer service and operation procedures. Dr. Dinh-Acosta is a skilled communicator and linguist and is a Certified Legal Court Interpreter in Spanish.

Tom Magnussen – Prior to joining Paragon Services, Mr. Magnussen worked for a large multi-national defense contracting firm providing information assurance solutions for the United States Government (USG). Mr. Magnussen provided exhaustive analysis for multiple USG customers including the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security.

Joe Boni – Prior to joining Paragon Services, Mr. Boni was the Director of Engineering for University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. His responsibilities included the verification and commissioning of all mechanical systems at the stadium, the design and implementation of the engineering department organization, as well as implementing and managing the energy efficiency program for the stadium. As Director of Engineering, Mr. Boni played an integral role in facilitating the engineering aspects of Super Bowl XLII including the NFL’s instant replay and coaches’ headsets. Mr. Boni serves on many organizations including Board member for the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Phoenix, sits on the Education Committee for the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA), and is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) International’s Board of Trustees. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Boni graduated Summa Cum Laude in Organizational Management from Aurora University in 2002.

Eric Rogers – Over the past two decades, Mr. Rogers has experience in the Arizona, New Mexico, and California markets servicing multi-tenant buildings, manufacturing facilities, medical and clean room environments, as well as retail and event venues. Mr. Rogers’ experiences have included exposure to unique environments ranging from the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station to Johnson and Johnson’s suture manufacturing plant. Prior to joining Paragon Services, Mr. Rogers assisted in customizing the cleaning operations for well known Arizona portfolios such as PetSmart and Chase Bank. Mr. Rogers participates in the Phoenix chapters of BOMA and IFMA. He is an Accredited Professional of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Existing Buildings. Mr. Rogers’ holds a business degree from Arizona State University.

The unique demands of Silicon Valley’s high tech and pharmaceutical facilities provided Mr. Coto with experience in clean room maintenance and Aseptic Best Practices. Mr. Coto has successfully managed operations for a variety of high profile accounts including 20th Century Fox Studios, Oracle, and Simon Properties malls throughout Northern California.
